SOME of us were hardy enough to make history by doing the Macarena on the shores of Tioram. We wanted to do it AT Tioram, but the tide was in.

Many, many happy years!

A beautiful bride, and beautiful table.

The mandatory piggyback ride. We woud've done it outside, but it was pouring.

Bob and Diana (no those aren't kneesocks, those are kilt hose. )

My hike on the last day. Got soaked.

We don't even know what this place was, just amazing, on the way back from Ft. William.

Got lucky on this, on our last supply run to Fort William, waited for the new couple to come outside.

More beautiful wildlife.

Our little one lane road, where you honestly can't see WHAT"S around the corner. And our fabulous driver Chris!

A typical view on the lovely one lane road. Get left! Get left!

We lucked out on this trio in Strontian, how perfect is that?

There were just too many beautiful things to take pictures of.

The Shaka painting.

Gardner's Cottage, with our little red car.

One of our beautiful Red Deer, hanging out at Gardner's.

When Sandra says "Rum and Coke", she MEANS it!

Across the Viaduct, thanks Lyle!

Knackered.

Maillag, way up north.

Got Guinness? In Maillag, lunch stop and turnaround for the train.

What a crew!

Shaka took Bob's seat. And never gave it back. :)

The Jacobite!

Scottish phone queue. Waiting for the ferry...

The stone wall along the walk from Dorlinn to our cottage, Gardner's.

We're here

Just a quick post to be able to say that I updated the blog from the UK.

We're here! After many hours on many airplanes and experiences for a few good stories, we're in Glasgow.

I only have 2 minutes left on our internet for hire terminal so I must be going.

I promise to write more later and embellish as much as possible.

Dorlin Cottage

I just learned that we will be staying at Dorlin Cottage in Dorlin. The online description is very nice and we hope that reality follows.

Our hosts tell us that they stay at the Hamster Cottages frequently and that they are every bit as nice as promised. Of course, Hamster Cottages immediately brings to mind a series of bright orange and yellow interconnected tubes and the smell of cedar shavings.

More to come...

Decision...

"Wanna' go to Scotland?" she asked.
"Scotland?" I asked.
"Yeah, Scotland." as if, why not Scotland?
"Sure, OK. Scotland." I replied, in complete agreement, as always.

Diana and I made the decision today to go to Scotland.

Ok, actually we thought about going to Scotland several months ago but finances being what they were, minimal that is, we had to decline a truly inviting invitation.

Some wonderful friends (we've never met them) invited us to come to Scotland and celebrate their fast approaching wedding. Well, one wonderful friend and one Scottish oddball retired cop is probably more descriptive and accurate. The oddball retired cop will almost certainly be a wonderful friend by the time this journey is complete. If not, batting .500 ain't all that bad.

The soon to be happy couple met as they say "on the internet". They normally have a fearful are you nuts? hush to their voice when they refer to something that they can't begin to relate to. Diana and I completely relate as we also met "on the internet". We've been married for almost five years so we know it can and does work.

That's the beginning of the Scotland story and I promise to write as much as I can in the coming weeks to let you all know how it goes. I don't of course know who you may be so feel free to reply to these posts and let me know who is watching from the sidelines.
